About the position

Join this established, mid-sized, Seattle-based company with entities in multiple states as their Payroll Manager. In this role, you will lead all aspects of payroll procedures and provide expert advice on payroll-related matters. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant laws and tax obligations, supervising a small payroll team, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The company offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for a balance between remote work and in-office presence, and features spectacular offices with water views. As the Payroll Manager, you will supervise payroll staff in the processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls. You will support the Accounting function and general management of the company by reviewing all payroll and outside provider filings for accuracy, including payroll taxes, W-2s, and other necessary filings. Additionally, you will provide HR and other department managers with essential reports, prepare payroll journal entries, and handle various month-end close tasks. Responsibilities

  • Supervising payroll staff in the processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
  • Supporting the Accounting function and general management by reviewing all payroll and outside provider filings for accuracy, including payroll taxes and W-2s.
  • Providing HR and other department managers with payroll reports.
  • Preparing payroll journal entries and handling various month-end close tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience with large payrolls.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with UKG or other payroll service systems.
  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a mid-sized company environment.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing.
