About the position

Soni's client in the Real Estate business is seeking a Payroll Manager who will be responsible for managing the full cycle payroll process for over 500 employees across multiple states. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of payroll operations, including the setup and verification of payroll data, as well as the creation and execution of custom reports. The Payroll Manager will need to stay current with federal and state wage and hour laws, including exemption minimums, ACA compliance requirements, FLSA guidelines, and FMLA regulations as they pertain to payroll. Additionally, the role involves filing and scanning documents to maintain accurate payroll records. The Payroll Manager will oversee the payroll administrator to ensure that payroll is processed accurately and efficiently. This includes collaborating with the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), auditors, and other stakeholders to compile data, create reports, and monitor payroll metrics. The role also involves analyzing and interpreting payroll data to support decision-making processes. Furthermore, the Payroll Manager will assist with benefits management and supervision as needed, ensuring that all compensation-related tasks are handled effectively and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage full cycle multi-state payroll for over 500 employees
  • Set up and verify payroll data
  • Create and run custom reports
  • Remain current with federal and state wage and hour laws, exemption minimums, ACA compliance requirements, FLSA guidelines, FMLA, LoA, etc. as they relate to payroll
  • File and scan payroll documents
  • Oversee the payroll administrator to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing
  • Work with HRIS, auditors, compile data, create reports, monitor metrics and analyze/interpret payroll data
  • Assist with benefits management and supervision as needed

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience working in payroll
  • Experience with multi-state payroll
  • Understanding of state and local tax jurisdictions
  • Familiarity with workers comp audits
  • Proactive and analytical approach to all job duties
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now system

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of HRIS
  • Experience working in a large publicly traded company
  • Supervisory experience

Benefits

  • Salary range of $120,000-$145,000 based on relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications
