About the position

As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and experience in payroll management systems. You will manage and supervise the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, overseeing payroll operations including data entry, processing, and distribution of paychecks. It is essential to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as to reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with HRIS, Accounting, and Finance teams to streamline processes. You will also be responsible for implementing best practices for payroll processing and reporting, and staying updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations. This position demands a proactive approach to managing payroll operations and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll
  • Oversee payroll operations including data entry, processing, and distribution of paychecks
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with HRIS, Accounting, and Finance teams to streamline processes
  • Implement best practices for payroll processing and reporting
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience in payroll management with knowledge of PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, or similar systems
  • Strong understanding of governmental accounting principles and general ledger reconciliation
  • Familiarity with corporate accounting practices and HRIS systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in 10-key typing
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Strong Excel Skills and CPP Certification preferred
