About The Position

The Payroll and HR Manager ensures accurate payroll processing, compliance with tax, benefit, and deduction regulations, and maintains employee records. Responsible for recruiting, training, and developing staff while providing leadership and guidance on payroll-related matters. The role includes preparing reports, managing year-end processes, and addressing employee inquiries. This position fosters a positive work environment while ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience, required
  • Knowledge of accounting including accounting theory and principles and taxation as applied to payroll required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ADP payroll software required
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees, assign work, develop employees, assess performance and provide performance feedback
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and improve processes and procedures
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Access, Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Education Preferred: College, university, or equivalent degree in Business, Accounting or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews employee time records for accurate reporting and schedule compliance
  • Processes adjustments, bonuses, and other payments as needed
  • Prepares necessary reports for management and compliance purposes
  • Ensures that all benefit, tax and other required deductions are properly implemented and processed
  • Manages the employee and payroll files
  • Manages the year end statement process, including revisions
  • Responds to employee and manager inquiries as required
  • Recruits, selects, develops, manages, motivates, coaches, and mentors assigned employees; provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information
  • Other duties as required.
