About the position

The Payroll Manager at ConvenientMD is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of multi-state, bi-weekly payroll. This role involves collaboration with Human Resources and Accounting to support benefits processing, month-end close, and maintaining internal controls. The Payroll Manager will also oversee payroll compliance, implement best practices, and manage payroll-related projects to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of bi-weekly payroll, including system audits and controls.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Review, interpret, and implement best practices for payroll processing.
  • Oversee projects to improve payroll processing, including ADP Workforce Manager workflows.
  • Work with Human Resources and IT teams to enhance ADP Workforce Now automation and data transfer to payroll.
  • Independently resolve complex payroll issues and respond to payroll inquiries.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Partner with Human Resources on payroll tasks related to onboarding, employee changes, and terminations.
  • Provide strategic insights for payroll-related projects and contribute to process optimization and ADP system functionality.
  • Create, document, and maintain internal payroll processing procedures and policies.
  • Oversee quarter-end and year-end reconciliation, including the annual W-2 process and year-end close.
  • Process all third-party payroll payments, including garnishments and other deductions.
  • Take on other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years overseeing multi-state, high-volume payroll.
  • 5+ years using ADP for payroll processing, with expertise in ADP Payroll and ADP Workforce Manager.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the MS Office suite.
  • Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • High level of discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to implement new practices.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
