About the position

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager located in Washington, District of Columbia. The role involves overseeing payroll processes in a collaborative and hands-on manner. As part of this role, you will be interacting with various internal and external entities, including regulatory agencies and service providers, while supervising a small team. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll operations, managing compliance with various laws and regulations, and providing support and guidance regarding payroll policies and procedures. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage a diverse range of payroll-related tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the weekly and bi-weekly in-house processing of payroll groups.
  • Manage the evaluation and compliance of domestic and foreign artists and contractors.
  • Handle the administration of various union contracts.
  • Carry out reconciliation, analysis, and filing of payroll tax and liabilities.
  • Interpret and implement new technical standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Provide support and guidance to the organization regarding payroll policies and procedures.
  • Assist in determining the classification of individuals as either employees or independent contractors.
  • Oversee routine and non-routine daily and weekly processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the payroll process.
  • Coordinate and oversee monthly and annual payroll statements and reports.
  • Serve as a liaison with various Union representatives to ensure resolution of any discrepancies and/or grievances.
  • Manage the organization's external payroll reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, tax and hour laws and best practices.
  • Assign, delegate, and supervise the day-to-day tasks for the payroll staff/function.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality of all Payroll records.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full cycle payroll experience and 1 year of management experience.
  • Ability to manage Full Cycle Payroll for 2500+ employees.
  • Experience with Payroll - Union.
  • Proficient in using Lawson software.
  • Proficient in using UKG Pro software.
