About the position

The Payroll On-Cycle Project Manager will serve as the subject matter expert in Kroger Accounting Services, providing leadership support to the finance director, controllers, and department managers. This role involves leading special projects and assisting with day-to-day operations, while upholding the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Kroger General Office, divisions, and business units to define scope, goals, and deliverables of assigned projects.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Ensure project compliance with industry guidelines, company policy, and laws.
  • Serve as liaison and manage relationships between KASH and project stakeholders; ensure communication includes the appropriate department managers and controllers.
  • Provide analysis for project impact on various departments utilizing graphing/trending reports.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines.
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders.
  • Manage project changes; identify problems and implement solutions to achieve project outputs.
  • Measure and report on project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and conduct training.
  • Assist in establishing processes for additional project components or special projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of conversations and documents.
  • Travel independently to other divisions for training and meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Kroger Accounting/HR Shared Service experience or extensive accounting/project management knowledge or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure, handling stress in a manner acceptable to others.
  • Ability to establish a course of action for self and others to ensure work is completed efficiently, assuming responsibility and accountability for timely completion of tasks.
  • Ability to take action to accomplish objectives and goals.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others; ability to establish/maintain good working relationships.
  • Proven analytical skills.
