About the position

The Payroll & Operations Admin will play a crucial role in the accurate calculation and entry of daily Mixed Batch production and consumption of siloed material into SAP. This position is responsible for supporting the precise preparation and distribution of the organization's hourly payroll, ensuring that wage payments for the hourly workforce in Kansas City are accurate and timely. The Payroll & Operations Admin will serve as a liaison with other departments, units, or locations to resolve payroll-related issues effectively. This role includes analyzing payroll problems, tracking overtime, recording and managing vacations, payroll deductions, and completing special reports or requests to meet the requirements of plant and group management. In addition to payroll responsibilities, the role involves daily raw material reporting, including the download of reports and entry into SAP. The Payroll & Operations Admin will conduct a daily review and processing of COGI (Correction of Goods Issues) and ensure that month-end reporting is completed accurately. This includes generating Kronos reports for the full calendar month and labor distribution for the entire month and accrual period. The position requires the completion of bi-weekly payroll for Kansas City employees, which involves analyzing, tracking, and reporting on vacations, overtime, payroll deductions, and any special requests. The role also encompasses various office administrative tasks, such as job bidding, managing badges and time cards, and overseeing uniform orders. The Payroll & Operations Admin will be responsible for distributing employee vouchers for safety gear in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and handling other miscellaneous tasks as requested. This position is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of payroll and administrative functions within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and enter daily Mixed Batch production and consumption of siloed material into SAP.
  • Support the accurate preparation and distribution of the organization's hourly payroll.
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments to resolve payroll problems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely wage payments for the hourly workforce.
  • Analyze payroll issues and track overtime, vacations, and payroll deductions.
  • Complete special reports or requests to meet management requirements.
  • Process daily raw material reporting and entry into SAP.
  • Conduct month-end reporting and processing of COGI.
  • Complete bi-weekly payroll for Kansas City employees, including analyses and tracking.
  • Manage attendance points and assist supervisors with write-ups in line with the CBA.
  • Handle office administrative tasks such as job bidding and managing badges and time cards.
  • Order and manage uniforms and office supplies.
  • Distribute employee vouchers for safety gear and handle miscellaneous tasks as requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Some experience in Payroll.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll reporting is a plus.
  • Additional experience in Accounting or Finance is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of automated payroll systems and applicable laws.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Skills and knowledge in the area of payroll expertise.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PeopleSoft and UKG (Kronos system).
