About the position

The Payroll Operations Coordinator at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream plays a crucial role in the Finance team, ensuring payroll accuracy and addressing employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits. This hybrid position requires collaboration with managers and employees to facilitate smooth payroll operations as the company experiences accelerated growth.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns related to Payroll & Benefits.
  • Resolve issues such as lost checks, void requests, direct deposit assistance, and undeliverable checks.
  • Assign and escalate tickets requiring in-depth assistance to senior team members.
  • Assist with Change of Status updates like transfers, title changes, and off-cycle terminations.
  • Review time cards and tip bundles, ensuring managers process them ahead of deadlines.
  • Prepare payroll reports, including Fair Work Week reports and high-priority terminations and promotions.
  • Audit organizational charts and personnel assignments for accuracy across platforms.
  • Process administrative changes for Retirement Savings Plan and ensure employee enrollments are accurate.
  • Manage administrative changes for Dental and Vision insurances, including COBRA notifications.
  • Add and remove employees in the expense platform and provide direct deposit submission forms.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience with Payroll.
  • Associate Degree or higher preferred but not required.
  • Experience handling sensitive information.
  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Proficient with the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with a Time and Attendance Platform.
  • Strong communication skills.
