About the position

The Payroll Operations Trainer at FrankCrum is responsible for providing comprehensive payroll-related training, coaching, and mentoring to both new and existing employees. This role involves developing and delivering training content on compliance, payroll processing, and operational policies, while also supporting ongoing staff development through advanced payroll topics and regulatory changes. The trainer will evaluate training effectiveness and assist in the development of payroll policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide payroll-related training, coaching, and mentoring to new and existing employees.
  • Develop, facilitate, and deliver training for new employees on compliance, systems, payroll processing, and operations.
  • Create and maintain high-quality training content, including presentations and assessments.
  • Support Payroll Operations Management in training existing employees on wage and hour topics and regulatory changes.
  • Review completed work for accuracy and adherence to policies and regulations, providing follow-up guidance as needed.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using various feedback measures and provide feedback to the Quality Assurance and Training Manager.
  • Assist in the development of payroll policies and procedures by recommending process improvements.
  • Manage various projects related to payroll operations, including year-end tasks and reconciliations.
  • Act as a mentor for payroll team members, assisting with payroll and system questions.
  • Monitor payroll tasks to ensure compliance with internal procedures.

Requirements

  • Three years of payroll processing experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or ability to obtain within the first two testing cycles required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations regarding wage and hour topics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
  • Experience in training and development.
