About the position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing and be knowledgeable in payroll laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing employee payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure all information is up-to-date
  • Calculate and process employee benefits, bonuses, and commissions
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve any issues or discrepancies
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data and changes are reflected in payroll
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
  • Review and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 and 1099 forms
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information and records
  • Complete any ad hoc tasks or projects related to payroll as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ADP or other payroll systems is a plus
