About the position

The Payroll Processor/Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll, including out-of-cycle payrolls, while ensuring compliance with government regulations. This role involves providing support to clients and employees regarding payroll inquiries, auditing payroll and employee data for accuracy, and maintaining employee records. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll timely and accurately, including out-of-cycle payrolls.
  • Administer and ensure compliance with payroll issues.
  • Provide client and employee services to support payroll inquiries.
  • Comply with government regulations related to payroll processing.
  • Audit payroll, benefits, and employee data for accuracy.
  • Set up deductions as required by clients/payroll.
  • Update worksite employee records, including Time/Attendance entry.
  • Compile reports as requested by clients.
  • Process high volume requests efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects.
  • Build relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Answer main phone line and client inquiries as needed.
  • Support another Payroll Specialist during planned and unplanned absences.
  • Handle documentation and proper filing requirements.

Requirements

  • 5 years minimum high-volume payroll experience.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, ADP Smart Compliance, ADP Service Now, ADP Total Source, ADP Run, TriNet, QuickBooks, and Orion Law Management System.
  • Understanding of payroll laws and multi-state payroll regulations.
  • Strong clerical skills with good verbal and written communication.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate situations and provide expedient resolutions.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information clearly.
  • Interpersonal skills: cooperative, courteous, flexible, and good-natured.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or GED required; CPP or FPC Certification preferred.
