About the position

The Payroll Services Specialist at the University of Arkansas is responsible for managing payroll-related tasks, including researching retroactive transactions, replacing lost checks, and ensuring tax compliance for payments to foreign nationals. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain harmonious working relationships within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Research and review supported and unsupported retroactive transactions.
  • Replace lost or stale dated checks.
  • Work with the Immigration Partner and NRA Tax Coordinator to ensure tax compliance of employee payments made to foreign nationals.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and accounting records and reports.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business management, office administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in payroll processing, payroll accounting, or a related area.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least one year of experience reviewing retroactive transactions.
  • Experience processing payments to foreign nationals.
  • Experience working in Higher Education.
  • Experience in Workday.
  • FPC or CPP Certification.
