About the position

The Payroll Specialist/Administrative Assistant at First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Delta is responsible for managing payroll administration, benefits coordination, recruitment assistance, and providing administrative support to executive officers. This role is essential in ensuring accurate payroll processing, employee benefits management, and maintaining corporate records, contributing to the overall efficiency of the bank's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Help coordinate employee recruiting, including composing employment ads, working with hiring managers, reviewing applications, and performing employment verifications.
  • Complete payroll process including verification of timekeeping data and ensuring all voluntary deductions are maintained.
  • Work with third-party administrator of retirement plans to ensure timely and accurate contributions.
  • Coordinate employee benefits administration with third-party providers, including healthcare open enrollment and changes in coverage.
  • Administer unemployment claims and ensure timely responses to OJDS.
  • Manage reporting related to Worker's Compensation and monitor future costs.
  • Organize and maintain all corporate records for the organization as administrative assistant to executive officers.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two-year post high school education in Human Resources, Payroll, or Accounting preferred.
  • Two years of work experience in human resources, payroll, or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
