Responsibilities
- Compiles payroll data and enters or computes wages, reconciling errors to maintain payroll records.
- Prepares computer input forms and enters data into computer files, computing wages and deductions as necessary.
- Reviews computed wages and corrects errors to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Records changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions and insurance coverage, to update master payroll records.
- Records data concerning employee transfers between departments.
- May prorate expenses for cost accounting records.
- May prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
- May keep records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
- May prepare and issue paychecks.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
