About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Employee Risk Management Co Inc. is responsible for managing payroll data and ensuring accurate wage computations for employees. This role involves compiling payroll information, entering data into systems, and reconciling any discrepancies to maintain precise payroll records.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles payroll data and enters or computes wages, reconciling errors to maintain payroll records.
  • Prepares computer input forms and enters data into computer files or computes wages and deductions using a calculator.
  • Reviews computed wages and corrects errors to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Records changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions and insurance coverage, to update master payroll records.
  • Records data concerning employee transfers between departments.
  • May prorate expenses for cost accounting records.
  • May prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
  • May keep records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
  • May prepare and issue paychecks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
