About the position

Workplace HCM is seeking an Entry Level Payroll Specialist to join our team. This full-time position is essential for managing client relationships and ensuring the smooth operation of payroll processes for our multi-product clients. The Payroll Specialist will provide technical assistance, training, and address general service inquiries, acting as a key point of contact for clients. The role requires managing calendars related to payroll processing and training, as well as proactively engaging with clients to enhance their experience with our services. In this position, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for overseeing a shared client group of 200 to 300 clients. This includes monitoring the client system to identify and resolve issues as they arise, managing the daily payroll process to ensure timely payroll delivery, and maintaining accurate documentation of client communications. The specialist will also be tasked with managing operational controls, such as conducting survey reviews, handling tax edits, and overseeing quarter and year-end activities. Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients is crucial, as is providing backup support for other specialists when necessary. The Payroll Specialist will be expected to meet daily metrics related to client retention, phone measurements, call quality, and the management of escalated client issues. Responsibilities

  • Manage a shared client group of 200 to 300 clients
  • Monitor the client system and identify issues as they arise
  • Manage the daily payroll process to produce timely payroll for clients
  • Maintain proper documentation of client communications
  • Proactively manage operational controls, such as survey reviews, tax edits, returns, and quarter and year-end activity
  • Maintain a long-term relationship with every client assigned to you
  • Provide backup for other specialists as needed
  • Meet daily metrics regarding client retention, phone measurements, call quality, and management of escalations of client issues
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent client services and technical support skills
  • One-year office experience preferred
  • Ability to work with different departments
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient in Windows based software
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, service oriented position
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
