As a member of the Human Resources Department, the Payroll Specialist will ensure complete and accurate processing of both weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for the assigned staff and region(s). This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of payroll operations and ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws. The Payroll Specialist will gather and review time worked records to ensure accuracy and completeness, process payroll in a timely manner, and manage adjustments to pay for rate changes, bonuses, and incentives. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for processing wage garnishments as required and preparing overtime and statistical reporting for management. The Payroll Specialist will maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions, review all payroll tax returns for accuracy including W-2s, and record third-party sick pay in the payroll system quarterly. This position serves as the primary resource to managers for providing timely and efficient problem resolution regarding payroll questions and issues. The specialist will also provide training to managers and employees regarding timekeeping and payroll processes, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained in regards to employee records. In addition to the core responsibilities, the Payroll Specialist may assist with and act as a backup to other payroll roles as needed, and will take on other responsibilities as assigned by management.
