About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Lucky Premium Treats is a full-time role focused on managing payroll processes and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll management and human resources, particularly in a bilingual Spanish/English environment. The specialist will be responsible for maintaining employee records, processing payroll accurately, and collaborating with HR to ensure accurate employee information.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in status.
  • Analyze payroll data to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee information is maintained.
  • Utilize payroll software system such as Paychex for efficient processing.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of payroll accounts and general ledger entries.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or issues from employees.
  • Stay updated on changes in governmental accounting regulations that may affect payroll processes.
  • Recruit for manufacturing, warehouse, and office employees.
  • Onboarding and offboarding employees.
  • Responsible for keeping applicable files both paper and electronic.
  • Responsible for employee relations.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years related work experience and/or education.
  • Proven experience in payroll management or related field is required.
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting principles is essential.
  • Experience using payroll software such as Paychex is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess data accuracy and compliance.
  • Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry tasks.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
