About the position

The Payroll Specialist will manage payroll for three entities, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while working closely with a small team. This hybrid role requires the candidate to be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with responsibilities including payroll processing, onboarding, and maintaining employee records.

Responsibilities

  • Manage weekly payroll for three entities, including handling new hires, timesheet verification, and garnishments.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, coordinating with field staff to maintain accurate employee records and timesheets.
  • Track labor expenses, costs, update reports, and assist with ad-hoc projects.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries, assist with benefits enrollment, and maintain up-to-date personnel files while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Stay updated on labor laws, prepare quarterly and annual tax reports (940/941), and manage workers' compensation reporting and audits.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full cycle payroll processing experience.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP or similar) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and mathematical skills.
  • Deadline-driven with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior implementation experience a plus.
