About the position

The Payroll Specialist I will assist with the day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for non-exempt staff. This entry-level position is crucial for maintaining payroll controls and providing customer service to internal employees and external contacts. The role requires a solid understanding of payroll processes and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and validate time-keeping records for non-exempt staff.
  • Prepare venue payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Record and process hours of work, maintaining payroll controls and records.
  • Review and process employee new hire/rehire information and terminations.
  • Ensure accuracy of all payrolls.
  • Distribute, receive, record, and file all payroll forms appropriately.
  • Provide customer service to all internal employees and outside contacts.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of payroll processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • General knowledge of basic accounting practices.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
