About the position

The Payroll Specialist I will assist with the day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for non-exempt staff. This entry-level position is crucial for maintaining payroll controls and providing customer service to internal employees and external contacts. The role requires a solid understanding of payroll processes and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects and validates time-keeping records for non-exempt staff.
• Prepares venue payroll in a timely and accurate manner, including recording and processing of hours worked.
• Maintains payroll controls, records, and support.
• Reviews and processes employee new hire/rehire information and terminations.
• Ensures accuracy of all payrolls and proper distribution of payroll forms.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of payroll processes and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• General knowledge of basic accounting practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
