About the position

The Judge Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist II to join our team in Wayne, Pennsylvania. This role is crucial in supporting the payroll manager to ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time. The Payroll Specialist II will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that are essential to the payroll process. This includes processing timesheets, calculating wages, handling tax processing, and preparing various payroll reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical and organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll software and regulations. Additionally, effective communication and interpersonal skills are vital, as this position requires collaboration with various departments and staff levels. The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage confidential information with discretion is also a key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the payroll manager in processing payroll for employees in a timely and accurate manner
  • Verify and input data from timesheets, attendance records, and other sources into the payroll system
  • Calculate wages, taxes, deductions, and other withholdings according to company policies and legal requirements
  • Issue paychecks or direct deposits to employees and distribute pay stubs or statements
  • Prepare and maintain payroll records, reports, and statements, such as tax forms, benefits summaries, and reconciliations
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and requests from employees, managers, and external parties
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any payroll errors or discrepancies
  • Update employee information and payroll changes in the payroll system
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Support payroll audits and reviews by providing relevant documentation and information
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the payroll manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in payroll administration or a related field
  • Proficiency in payroll software (Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics or UKG preferred)
  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations
  • Excellent accounting and math skills
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and perform accurate calculations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
