Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, and verify the company's payroll using the payroll system.
  • Handle employee verifications and changes not processed by the outsourced provider.
  • Enter payroll exception data and maintain accurate earnings and deduction records.
  • Manage and process complex transactions such as garnishments, severance, and award payments.
  • Verify accuracy of data entered through audit reporting.
  • Research and resolve moderately complex payroll problems.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees and management regarding payroll issues.
  • Assist less experienced staff with payroll research and inquiries as needed.
  • Generate standard and ad hoc reports for management review and analysis.
  • Verify routing of payroll materials to ensure proper distribution.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • 2-3 years related Payroll experience required.
  • Solid understanding of payroll procedures.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Excellent data entry and customer service skills.
  • Strong ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting preferred.
