About the position

The Payroll Operations Specialist position at Compass Group involves a variety of responsibilities centered around payroll processing and operational efficiency. The role is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills. The specialist will be responsible for creating work orders and accurately capturing structured data to ensure proper audit trails and statistical analysis. This position requires the ability to identify inefficiencies in existing processes and document current workflows to enhance operational effectiveness. The specialist will also need to understand and resolve questions or issues presented by field managers, taking full ownership of the resolution process. In addition to these responsibilities, the Payroll Operations Specialist will provide support during high call volume periods, adhering to established procedures and performance standards. The role includes making recommendations for process changes, documenting and testing these changes, and providing training to team members. The specialist will be expected to support various payroll applications, including SAP, MyCPM, MySTAFF, and MyRequests, and will need to make recommendations for future improvements based on their interactions with these systems. Other tasks include processing off-cycle checks, completing necessary corrections from internal data audits, and providing customer service leadership on projects that involve multiple teams within the department. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn and actively seek new opportunities, demonstrating a solid work ethic and the ability to remain productive even during idle times. This position is initially on-site for five days a week, with the potential for hybrid work based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Create work orders utilizing the most appropriate CTI while accurately capturing structured data for each issue.
  • Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and document current workflows.
  • Understand and resolve questions/issues presented by field managers, taking ownership of the resolution.
  • Provide support during high call volume times according to established procedures.
  • Make recommendations for process changes and provide documentation and testing for implementation.
  • Provide training for the team on new processes and changes.
  • Support all payroll applications and recommend future improvements based on interactions.
  • Process and respond to emails according to standard procedures.
  • Process off-cycle checks according to standard procedures.
  • Complete necessary corrections from internal data audits.
  • Provide customer service leadership on projects involving multiple teams.
  • Recognize issues or trending work orders and provide troubleshooting and resolution suggestions.

Requirements

  • Previous work order experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong reading and writing skills.
