About the position

The Payroll Specialist is a key member of the Human Resources Team at MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC, responsible for processing the weekly and bi-weekly payroll, along with all associated tasks. This role involves managing payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy in payroll calculations, and providing various wage-related reports to support local headquarters. The position requires a strong understanding of payroll laws and excellent communication skills to interact with employees and departments effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the payroll cycle workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed and reconciled.
  • Complete accurate calculations in Excel files.
  • Process timely and accurate weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly expatriate payroll.
  • Enter personal master data into the HRIS, including wages, tax withholdings, and direct deposit bank information.
  • Maintain employee payroll records.
  • Verify timesheets and clock data to ensure compliance with policies and processing rules.
  • Create and analyze attendance audit reports to identify and correct payroll before processing.
  • Provide customized reports to Headquarters, Finance, and Production departments as requested.
  • Perform accounting reconciliations, process returned funds, and manage ACH rejects.
  • Support new hires in completing required state and federal forms as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal payroll laws and deadline requirements.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal management skills.
  • Ability to process payroll via standard operating systems.
  • Ability to manage time and projects to ensure completion of payroll and reporting requirements efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of SAP and time-keeping best practices.
