About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Canteen is responsible for managing the weekly payroll processing for hourly team members, addressing payroll-related inquiries, and performing various administrative tasks related to human resources. This role requires strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Owns/administers weekly payroll processing for all hourly team members.
• Answers questions from team members around pay, vacation, etc.
• Performs various associate and human resources-related administrative tasks to include recruiting and onboarding processing.
• Resolving various accounting/reconciliation issues.
• May assist with monthly, quarterly, annual reports, including monthly and fiscal close, report preparation and distribution.
• Prepare various payroll reports and conduct audits.
• Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience per the above duties.
• Ability to prepare key metric reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include internal and external customer communications.
• Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships.
• Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office with a concentration in Excel.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
