Responsibilities

  • Reviews payroll edits and makes online corrections as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with company policy as well as wage and hour laws.
  • Answers calls from the employee hotline.
  • Prepares ad-hoc manual checks.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records.
  • Addresses payroll-related issues using sound analytical, reasoning and judgment skills.
  • Reports recurrent payroll discrepancies to the manager for root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Participates in external payroll-related audits and requests for information.
  • Conducts audits, analyzes results, investigates problems and resolves discrepancies as appropriate.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and distributes periodic payroll reports using established policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two years' experience processing high-volume payroll.
  • Computer literate and highly proficient in using MS office programs (Excel and Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience processing multi-frequency and multi-state payrolls.
  • CPP (certified payroll professional) or FPC (fundamental payroll certification).
  • PeopleSoft application experience, version 9.1 or higher.
