About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Credit Human Federal Credit Union is responsible for providing exceptional payroll and benefits services to internal members. This role emphasizes the importance of confidentiality and integrity while managing payroll functions, including data maintenance, payroll processing, and employee inquiries. The specialist will support both payroll and benefits processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process all bi-weekly payroll and any special payroll runs
  • Create wires, ACH, and check requests for payments made from payroll
  • Prepare, post, and reconcile payroll general ledger entries
  • Handle new hire and termination processing
  • Setup and assist with all UKG employee profile access
  • Support the Benefits Team by assisting with employee benefit deductions
  • Administer Leave of Absence requests through established procedures
  • Coordinate employee termination processes to benefits when they exit Credit Human
  • Prepare benefit deduction invoicing
  • Provide support for other human resource-related functions

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience with compliance and reporting
  • 2 years in directly supporting products and services
  • 2 years in accurately processing data entry for employment and/or financial transactions
  • 2 years in posting and reconciling general ledger activity
  • 2 years of working within technology data applications (i.e., HRIS systems, payroll/tax software applications, financial services software applications)
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to obtain a HIPAA Certification within 7-working days of employment

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience in multi-state payroll processing
  • 1 year of experience in benefits administration
  • 1 year of experience with leave of absence administration
  • Related Certification and/or Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or equivalent degree
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or University
  • Advanced Excel and Access skills
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll laws
