About the position

The Payroll Specialist at American Senior Communities plays a crucial role in processing payroll for various long-term care and assisted living communities. This position involves handling Employee Data (EDS) requests and providing assistance to payroll personnel in a professional and effective manner, ensuring compliance with corporate policies as well as federal and state regulations. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for auditing the Kronos Timeclock, managing bonus programs, and overseeing special pay programs. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, as accuracy in keyed entries is critical. The Payroll Specialist will also verify and calculate overtime premiums for all bonus and special pay programs, ensuring that all payroll processes are executed smoothly and efficiently. In addition to payroll processing, the Payroll Specialist will assist facility-based Payroll Coordinators by addressing their questions and concerns, thereby fostering a collaborative work environment. This position is not just about numbers; it is about making a difference in the lives of employees by providing excellent customer service. The Payroll Specialist will act as a positive teammate, helping onboard new employees and contributing to a supportive workplace culture. Responsibilities

  • Process Long-Term Care and Assisted Living payroll for various communities under the ASC umbrella
  • Audit Kronos Timeclock, all Bonus programs and any other Special Pay programs
  • Verify and calculate overtime premiums for all Bonus and Special Pay programs
  • Assist the facility-based Payroll Coordinators with questions and/or concerns
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees
  • Help onboard new teammates and act as a positive teammate to fellow employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required and/or equivalent related work experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year Long-Term Healthcare payroll experience is required
  • Knowledge of Federal and State laws regarding payroll
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Previous experience utilizing Ultimate Software Payroll system strongly preferred but not required
  • Excellent attention to detail as keyed entry accuracy is critical for this role
  • Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
