The Payroll Specialist / Receptionist position is a full-time role based in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position is crucial for maintaining the payroll system and providing administrative support at the front desk. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll transactions, managing time card entries, travel vouchers, and payment requests, as well as ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing. Additionally, the role involves maintaining employee files, processing new hire paperwork, and assisting with EEO reports. The receptionist duties include answering incoming calls, greeting visitors, and performing various administrative tasks as needed. This role requires a high level of organizational skills and the ability to handle a significant volume of paperwork while maintaining confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll functions and a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day processing of payroll transactions to ensure timely, effective, up-to-date, and accurate payroll processing.
  • Process time card entries.
  • Process travel vouchers.
  • Process requests for payments.
  • Check distribution.
  • Process new hire paperwork.
  • Complete and send certified payrolls to general contractors promptly.
  • Maintain field employees' files and resumes up to date.
  • Process EEO reports and assist Estimators with pre-qualifications.
  • Answer all incoming calls, redirecting calls appropriately, and taking adequate messages when needed.
  • Greet and assist visitors.
  • Scan documents and save them in the corresponding folders.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with payroll functions and ability to handle a voluminous amount of paperwork.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when performing payroll duties.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • 2+ years of payroll and receptionist experience is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • E-verify experience is preferred but not required.
