About the position

The Provider Compensation Specialist (Payroll Specialist) is responsible for generating and processing payroll for assigned companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This remote position requires attention to detail in reviewing payroll reports, validating complex calculations, and compiling necessary documentation for audits. The role also involves collaboration with other compensation specialists and participation in special projects as directed by Payroll Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, processes, and generates payroll.
  • Reviews payroll reports for accuracy.
  • Interprets contract language.
  • Validates complex calculations.
  • Compiles backup for audit and SOX compliance.
  • Meets all outlined deadlines.
  • Supports other compensation specialists in reviewing payroll and processing monthly and biweekly payrolls.
  • Completes special projects and other assignments as assigned by the Payroll Leadership.

Requirements

  • An associate's degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll-related roles is preferred.
  • FPC or CPP certification is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles is required.
  • Experience with payroll software is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Excel (Pivot Table, V-lookups, and advanced formulas).
  • Good decision-making and judgment skills.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting critical deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
