About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team at Lamb Weston. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling payroll processes, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders across different regions. This role is responsible for supporting the administration of the day-to-day payroll operations and ensuring the accuracy of the payroll system data to deliver the company's payrolls. In this position, you will manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with country, federal, state, and local regulations. You will also oversee global payroll processing for your assigned location, ensuring compliance with country-specific regulations using a global payroll provider. Staying updated on changes to tax laws, labor regulations, and other payroll-related legislation is crucial to ensure compliance. You will identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency, collaborating with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure accurate processing of employee data and seamless integration with other systems. Additionally, you will prepare termination and/or off-cycle checks, manage payroll cases and emails in a timely manner, and maintain employee master data in the payroll system, auditing it against Workday data to ensure consistency. Processing garnishments, tax levies, and other non-voluntary attachments as required by law will also be part of your responsibilities. Participation in payroll projects and opportunities as assigned, along with compiling, analyzing, and documenting issues on payroll and related fiscal activities to identify systemic issues or problems, will be expected.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee master data in the payroll system and audit it against Workday data to ensure they are the same.
  • Update in-country tax setup as needed.
  • Process garnishments, tax levies, other non-voluntary attachments as required by law.
  • Participate in payroll projects and opportunities as assigned.
  • Compile, analyze, and document issues on payroll and related fiscal activities to identify systemic issues or problems.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years' experience of processing payrolls (including, but not limited to North America, Latin America, APAC Region, Europe).
  • In-depth knowledge of country, federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and tax laws.
  • Multi-state, International, union payroll experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll software and systems.
  • Proficient in MS Excel including advanced formulas functions (VLOOKUP's, Pivot tables, IF statements).
  • Strong analytical, high attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed and think and act independently while also being team oriented.
  • Good follow-up skills: the ability to understand; adaptability to process changes; a strong sense of importance of ownership.
  • Ability to maintain the highest standards of accuracy, precision, discretion, and confidentiality with strong ethical values.

Nice-to-haves
