About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Sound Physicians is a temporary full-time position responsible for managing various payroll-related tasks, including processing compensation for newly hired and terminated colleagues, maintaining payroll documentation, and ensuring accurate payroll submissions. This role requires collaboration with Human Resources and other departments to support payroll operations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Physician Services for processing newly hired colleagues.
  • Maintain colleague compensation files.
  • Process documentation for terminated colleagues.
  • Review scheduling, shift assignment, and revenue reports to support payroll compensation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll information from operating units.
  • Perform compensation calculations for scheduled pay dates.
  • Input and review payroll processing service submissions for accuracy.
  • Maintain criteria for bonus determination and document bonus decisions.
  • Review documentation for colleague advances and other transactions.
  • Research and resolve tax questions with payroll service.
  • Address colleague compensation inquiries in a service-oriented manner.
  • Advise management on compensation payment issues and communication perceptions.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • 3 years of compensation processing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential material professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for sensitive situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • College-level tax, business, or accounting courses desirable.
  • Critical care experience.
