About the position

The Tom Wood Group in Indianapolis, Indiana, is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. We are in the process of expanding our HR team to better support our diverse businesses and ever-growing employee population. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations. They will excel at maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, and providing exceptional support to employees. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing biweekly payroll and supplemental payrolls for more than 1,000 employees. This includes processing all payroll reporting after each transmittal and sending out biweekly and supplemental payroll reports for various store locations. You will also follow up with management teams on time and attendance functions as well as time off approvals on a weekly basis. Additionally, you will administer garnishments and child support administration, perform ADP reporting functions for Executive management, General Managers, Office Managers, and others, and verify new hire information in the ADP system. New hire reporting to the applicable states and handling termination paperwork while maintaining terminated employee files will also be part of your responsibilities. Other HR duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably with ADP WorkforceNow
  • Associates/undergraduate degree in HR, Business, Accounting or equivalent work experience in payroll area
  • Ability to partner across organizations including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, Senior Managers, and Employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • A high level of confidentiality/discretion is required
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean record
