About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Union Payroll Specialist with construction experience to join our finance team at KOR Building Group, LLC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll, certified payroll reporting, and union fringe benefits reporting and processing. This position requires a strong understanding of both union and non-union payroll processes, as well as the ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment. The Union Payroll Specialist will manage and process payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employee benefits, including health insurance and union benefits. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing paychecks, verifying employees' work hours using paper timecards and Paylocity software, and updating payroll records. The specialist will also prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including tax returns and year-end statements, while maintaining strict confidentiality and respect for privacy. In addition, the role involves processing employee changes, such as rate increases, W-4 withholdings, direct deposits, and garnishments. The specialist will prepare reports summarizing earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave, and non-taxable wages. Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee payroll queries are also key responsibilities. The Union Payroll Specialist will maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures, process and issue W-2 and 1099 forms, and assist with internal and external audits related to payroll. Furthermore, the specialist will compile, complete, and send all Certified Payroll Reports to various public entities, keeping current with the union Master Labor Agreement and wage rates, and preparing monthly union fringe benefits reports for payment to trust funds.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in payroll management, including both non-union and union payroll.
  • Experience in Paylocity or equivalent payroll software is required.
  • Experience with benefits administration is necessary.
  • Financial accounting background is preferred.
