About the position

Leavitt Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support multiple agencies across the US, primarily handling payroll tax accounts and ensuring compliance with state requirements. This role can be performed remotely within the mountain west and involves managing payroll processes, maintaining payroll information, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple state payroll processing and compliance with payroll laws.
• Maintain payroll information by directing the collection, calculation, and entry of data.
• Ensure timely payroll processing, tax reconciliation, and compliance with state requirements.
• Pay employees by producing and issuing paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
• Prepare reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
• Balance payroll accounts by resolving discrepancies.
• Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests, maintaining payroll guidelines.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High sense of urgency with developing and delivering quality products and customer service.
• Extreme level of integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness.
• Ability to maintain employee confidence and payroll confidentiality.
• Positive attitude, high work ethic, and results-oriented.
• Ability to take feedback positively and make adjustments as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with ADP is preferred.
