This role involves managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and collaborating with the accounting team on construction billing. The ideal candidate will have experience in certified payroll and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and compliance in payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for public works projects in compliance with prevailing wage requirements.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to manage billing for construction projects.
• Maintain accurate records of employee hours, deductions, and benefits in payroll systems.
• Stay updated on labor laws, tax regulations, and prevailing wage requirements specific to the construction industry.
• Generate payroll and accounting reports as needed for management and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance.
• Proficiency in construction billing processes, including AIA documents.
• Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, ComputerEase or similar systems).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and general ledger reconciliation.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of certified payroll/prevailing wage and reporting requirements.
• Experience with certified payroll reporting software (DIR, LCPtracker, e-Mars).
• Experience with state and federal reporting systems (EFTPS, EDD, etc.).
