About the position

As a Payroll Specialist at PrideStaff Financial, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all departments within the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include compiling, preparing, and entering timekeeping and payroll data, which is essential for maintaining the financial integrity of the company. You will compute and disburse salaries, deductions, taxes, and other withholdings, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for posting payroll data and preparing various reports that are vital for both internal and external stakeholders. Staying updated with the latest taxation of salaries, benefits, and other payroll-related factors is a key aspect of this role. You will also process and monitor garnishment orders, which can significantly impact payroll specifications. Your attention to detail will be critical as you prepare all related payroll reports, including tax payments, W-2s, child support, garnishments, and other year-end reports. Maintaining and updating the payroll database regarding salaries is another important responsibility, as is assisting in payroll audits to ensure compliance and accuracy. In addition to these core responsibilities, you may be required to perform other clerical duties as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the payroll department. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of payroll experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent data entry skills
