About the position

As a Payroll Specialist at Briggs & Stratton LLC, your primary goal will be to complete payroll processing and manage all aspects associated with it. This role involves reviewing, reconciling, auditing, and balancing payroll documents and files to ensure that practices align with company policy and regulatory guidelines. You will provide customer service for all employees and third-party vendors related to payroll matters. Additionally, you will assist in training staff on new procedures and systems while overseeing the preparation of special payrolls. Your responsibilities will include performing tasks associated with payroll processing, which encompasses procedures, auditing, reviewing, balancing, data entry, processing (calculating and confirming), reporting, and transmitting information to vendors. You will also be responsible for producing ad hoc reports for various departments to meet corporate requirements and completing internal and external reporting to ensure that customer needs and requirements are met. This includes performing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax payments and filings with federal, state, and local agencies. Maintaining accurate record-keeping and supporting spreadsheets and documents for all filings and payments is crucial. You will administer and oversee all tasks associated with expatriate payroll processing and special payrolls, ensuring that specific compliance requirements are administered timely. This includes compliance with DOL, IRS, FLSA, federal and state regulations, garnishments, levies, court orders, company policy, direct deposit, W-4, escheated property, Sarbanes-Oxley audit, internal procedures, and record retention. You will also provide customer support, including training aspects of payroll, and participate in timekeeping update and upgrade testing. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of experience with in-house payroll processes, time and attendance, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in payroll/timekeeping software systems (including Ceridian/Dayforce and UKG).
  • Experience in multi-state payroll.
