About the position

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for over 500 employees, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining compliance with various laws and regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The position is full-time and based in Denver, CO, with a focus on in-person work.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll and ensure timely payment of employees on a weekly basis for 500+ employees.
• Monitor the use of the electronic timekeeping system, Work Max.
• Ensure maximum compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Ensure proper filing of tax and voluntary deduction reports.
• Update the organization's payroll procedures.
• Submit payroll reports and sheets for timely processing of staff.
• Complete additional accounting tasks as assigned.
• Handle certified payroll, 401k, and benefit filing and reconciliation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Payroll Administration.
• Certified Payroll experience.
• Basic understanding of general accounting.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Sufficient knowledge of payroll taxes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Sage Accounting software preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in the use of the timekeeping system Work Max is a plus.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
