About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Essential Services of Oregon plays a crucial role in assisting staff with recording daily schedules, monitoring overtime, and verifying shift locations. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll cycles through data entry and troubleshooting software applications, contributing to the overall efficiency of payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring employee rosters are updated and accurate.
  • Communicate with staff regarding missed clock in/out.
  • Review the hours and mileage of clients and staff.
  • Monitoring overtime usage.
  • Create reports for payroll cycles that accurately reflect hours worked by staff.
  • Create reports for case managers that accurately reflect hours of services provided to clients, mileage used, and notes detailing accomplished tasks.
  • Upload worked shifts to the State of Oregon for the pay period on behalf of each client.
  • Assist staff in ensuring the necessary phone applications are being used properly.
  • Create new client entries and ensure all documents are valid.
  • Process renewed client paperwork and update the system.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Successfully complete a DHS criminal background check.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and spoken English.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Word per minute speed of 40.
  • Able to learn new software as needed.
  • Demonstrate experience, education, skills, and abilities to perform all tasks safely and adequately.
