The Payroll Specialist will manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees at Smksoft in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities

  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing for employees
  • Understanding payroll laws and regulations
  • Managing workflow to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions
  • Providing excellent customer service to employees regarding compensation, taxes, and time-off requests
  • Supporting managers in understanding HR processes
  • Educating managers and employees on payroll and timekeeping policies
  • Performing daily payroll operations
  • Updating payroll-related information and managing overall payroll workflow
  • Ensuring timely processing of new hires, promotions, and terminations
  • Analyzing and auditing payroll data for accuracy
  • Preparing journal entries related to payroll and benefits
  • Executing time and attendance processing and interfacing with payroll
  • Calculating and distributing payroll reports
  • Processing garnishment payments
  • Completing employment verifications and unemployment insurance requests
  • Processing 940/941 tax payments
  • Ensuring accurate year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c)
  • Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Performing other assigned duties

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Payroll Coordinator, Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Representative, or Payroll Clerk
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with ADP WFN & Timekeeping
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and best payroll practices
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive information
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Team player and self-motivated individual
