About the position

As a Mailroom Support team member at Forum Communications Printing, you will play a crucial role in supporting mailroom operations and fostering a collaborative work environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the assembly and preparation of newspapers for distribution, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a hands-on approach, as you will be working directly on the floor conveyor lines, counting units within bundles, and ensuring that all printed materials are properly handled and prepared for delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing bundles of printed matter and stacking them on pallets for distribution. You will also operate an electric floor jack to move skids of printed material, feed strapping and wrapping machines, and assist in staging mailroom equipment before production runs. Loading various feed stations on the inserting machine and stacking down or palletizing products as they are run off the press will also be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will prepare minimum bundle sizes and bag mail, count and top bundles on conveyor lines, and adhere to all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Reliability and punctuality are essential in this role, as maintaining prompt attendance is critical to the success of the mailroom operations. Responsibilities

  • Work on floor conveyor lines, counting the units within a bundle.
  • Repair bundles of printed matter and place/stack on pallets.

  • Assist in staging mailroom equipment before production runs.

  • Prepare minimum bundle sizes and bag mail.
  • Count and top bundles on conveyor lines.
  • Abide by all OSHA regulations and the lockout/tagout program, as well as other established company safety policies.
  • Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.

Requirements

  • Mechanical skills and computer knowledge are preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
