The Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in administering the payroll function for our organization, reporting directly to the Manager of Payroll. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to make a significant impact by ensuring that employees are compensated accurately and on time. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for collecting, verifying, and storing payroll data related to our bi-weekly payroll and weekly temporary associate payroll. This includes managing information for new hires, terminations, job changes, and other payroll-related adjustments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of data entry accuracy. In this role, the Payroll Specialist will work closely with internal customers, members of the People Team, and other payroll team members to understand business requirements and the configuration of payroll and timekeeping systems. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to learn new technologies quickly. The Payroll Specialist will also be involved in preparing and reconciling payroll reports, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining confidentiality of payroll operations. The role is not only about processing payroll but also about providing guidance to internal customers on payroll-related inquiries and recommending process improvements. The Payroll Specialist will act as an escalation point for complex issues and will support audits and month-end processing of reports. This position is essential in helping the organization achieve its mission of delivering care to injured workers by ensuring that our colleagues are compensated fairly and accurately.
