About the position

The Payroll Specialist role at Robert Half is a contract-to-hire position focused on managing multi-state payroll within a dynamic HR environment. The specialist will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees, while also maintaining employee records and addressing customer inquiries. This position offers opportunities to expand into generalist HR tasks beyond payroll responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the processing of multi-state payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
• Utilize Paycom and other accounting software systems such as ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, and Ceridian for efficient payroll processing.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all employee payroll information.
• Handle customer inquiries and provide prompt and accurate responses.
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on account status.
• Uphold knowledge and understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration and implement it when necessary.
• Perform auditing tasks to ensure compliance and accuracy of all payroll transactions.
• Manage accounting functions including the reconciliation of payroll transactions.
• Assist in benefit functions, ensuring employees receive entitled benefits.
• Show a willingness and eagerness to learn and take on more generalist HR tasks beyond payroll.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now
• Knowledge of Ceridian and Dayforce software
• Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration
• Ability to use About Time software
• Experience with Accounting Functions
• Expertise in Auditing
