About the position

Randstad is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a growing construction company located in the Fort Lauderdale/Tamarac area. This temporary position offers an hourly wage of $24 to $25 and is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to excellence and employee development. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for various payroll functions, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage payroll processing for a workforce ranging from 50 to 500 employees. The successful candidate will also handle special checks and bonuses, track paid time off (PTO), and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and leave issues. Responsibilities

• Data entry and reconciliation of timecards.
• Distributing paychecks and providing statements to various departments.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance with time and attendance activities.
• Auditing time entry to ensure hours and pay rates are accurate.
• Calculating and processing special checks and bonuses as required.
• Tracking PTO, leaves of absence (LOA), and holidays.
• Obtaining approvals for changes and corrections in payroll.
• Responding to employee queries related to pay issues and leaves.
• Researching and resolving ACH returns and/or lost checks.
• Inputting hours for Short Term Disability pay in the time system.
• Processing garnishments as required.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in payroll processing is required.
• 2 years of experience managing payroll for 50 to 500 employees is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
