About the position

The Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in the administration, planning, development, and implementation of various payroll functions within the organization. This position is situated in a fast-paced environment where the Payroll Specialist will assist the Payroll Manager in processing payroll for approximately 1200 employees. The responsibilities include reviewing employee timecards for accuracy and compliance, resolving employee payroll issues, and processing payroll items such as importing, proofing, editing, processing, and transmitting payroll wages, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, commissions, and manual payments in accordance with federal and state wage and hour laws. In addition to processing payroll, the Payroll Specialist will perform updates to payroll-related data and manage the overall payroll workflow. Analyzing and auditing payroll data for accuracy is a key responsibility, as is creating and running various reports for audits and analysis. The role requires resolving any payroll concerns and performing necessary corrections while maintaining strict confidentiality of employee information. The Payroll Specialist must be prepared to work overtime when required and will be expected to perform all other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager or other authorized personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Payroll Manager in processing payroll for approximately 1200 employees.
  • Review employee timecards for accuracy and compliance.
  • Resolve employee payroll issues.
  • Process payroll items including importing, proofing, editing, processing, and transmitting payroll wages, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, commissions, and manual payments.
  • Perform updates to payroll-related data and administer overall payroll workflow.
  • Analyze and audit payroll data for accuracy.
  • Create and run various reports for audits and analysis.
  • Resolve payroll concerns and perform necessary corrections.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
  • Work overtime when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4 years of administrator experience using ADP WorkForce Now.
  • Administrator experience using ADP Essential Time or ADP Enhanced Time.
  • 4 years of experience in a high-volume, fast-paced Payroll department.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to assist internal customers.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with analyzing data.
  • Critical attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
