About the position

The Payroll Specialist at HealthDrive is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with various payroll regulations and maintaining confidentiality of payroll information. This role involves working closely with third-party payroll vendors, assisting team members with payroll inquiries, and preparing payroll-related reports. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll checks
  • Work with third party payroll vendor software and representatives as needed
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively within a team setting
  • Process all payroll-related paperwork including new hires, terminations, and personnel changes
  • Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports
  • Assist in and troubleshoot team member payroll questions
  • Research any payroll-related questions in a timely manner
  • Maintain strict confidentiality pertaining to all payroll information
  • Prepare monthly payroll journal entries for general ledger reporting
  • Review and maintain various payroll items by state including sick time, paid time off leave rules, overtime regulations, and local taxes
  • Follow up with payroll tax inquiries and enrollments as needed
  • Provide new provider education and training with Expensewire
  • Assist with monthly close-accruals and balance sheet analysis
  • Prepare use tax work papers

Requirements

  • High level of honesty and integrity
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, and data-entry experience
  • Paychex payroll experience is a plus
  • General ledger experience strongly preferred
  • Accuracy in work and detail-oriented
  • Well-organized with ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and listening skills
  • Basic math skills as they relate to payroll and paid time off
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist team members
  • A high school education and a minimum of five years experience with payroll processing strongly preferred
