We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to join our growing local payroll company in Colorado Springs. This full-time position involves processing payroll for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and assisting clients with various payroll-related tasks. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong communication skills to interact with clients professionally.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist clients with navigating our proprietary website for reports, earnings deductions, and accruals.
• Perform data entry and setup tasks related to payroll processing.
• Conduct account reconciliation to ensure accurate tax reporting.
• Prepare and submit tax filings in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Collaborate with management and clients to resolve payroll discrepancies or issues.

Requirements

• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn proprietary software.
• Proficiency in other payroll software is highly desirable.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong understanding of tax regulations related to payroll processing.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax reporting and payment requirements.
• Excellent grammar, typing, and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Previous experience as a payroll clerk or in a similar role is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
• Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
